[pharmacological action] compound preparation. Sulfadiazine, which inhibits bacterial reproduction by inhibiting the synthesis of folic acid, is able to compete with PABA for dihydrofolic acid synthase, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of the sensitive bacterium folic acid. Dihydrofolic acid reductase, which is used to inhibit bacterial nucleic acid synthesis, can not be reduced to tetrahydrofolic acid. The combination of the two can block the folate metabolism of bacteria, enhance their effectiveness and reduce the production of drug-resistant strains. This product has a strong effect on hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus pneumoniae, salmonella, e. coli, etc. It is the first choice for the treatment of brain bacterial infection in sulfa.

1. Treatment of epidemic encephalitis, meningitis, sepsis and systemic infection.
